Appointments are usually available at short notice.
Treatment times can vary but normally last for between 30 and 45 minutes per person.
I specialise in general chiropody/podiatry. This is the treatment of skin and nail conditions, which includes callus, corns, fissures (cracks) and fungal infections.
If you are affected by a skin or nail condition or just want a general podiatric foot care treat, then I can help.
Not all of the disorders that can affect the feet are detailed here. If you are concerned about a particular problem please contact me.
A home visit may include any or all of the following:
Callus, corns and fissure hard skin can all be treated by careful removal. The application of an emollient and or protective padding, along with advice to delay or prevent re-occurrence can also be prescribed.
Treatment for fungal infections usually involves the use by the patient of various sprays, creams or tinctures over a period of time. Advice will be given if needed.
Thickened or fungal nails can be improved by the use of a high speed burr, (not normally unpleasant), in order to thin the nail and make it more manageable and comfortable.
Any in-growing nail edges will be carefully cut and filed. Any nail particles will be removed.
If an in-growing nail is persistent, advice will be given on nail surgery procedures – however these can not be undertaken in a home environment.
Nails can be cut, filed and any debris gently removed. General foot care advice, if needed, will be given.
